Out of Zion's Hill Salvation Comes

There is an ancient Chinese custom which holds that if you save some ones life, save them from drowning for example, you would have to maintain them, feed and clothe them for the rest of their life.
The theory being that providence had produced this situation thereby causing  one less mouth to feed and if you prevented this from happening you were now responsible for their provision.
Unfortunately this produced a situation where one could not depend on his neighbor for salvation in times of distress.
Fortunately in our society salvation from harm is encouraged and spiritual salvation from sin and a sinful life is permitted. The true fact of the matter is that we often fail to take full advantage of our salvation.  When God saves us He also willingly makes provision for us.
Salvation is not just a one-time event. It is a continual daily process, not on our part but His. (Salvation from the sinful nature is a one time event but salvation from our carnal nature or soulish desires is an ongoing process)
He offers deliverance from the snares of the world.
Saved from a life of serving self, which leads to degradation--to a life of serving God which leads to crowns.
Unfortunately most modern day Christians had a one time salvation event (saved from drowning but not saved from spiritual poverty and worldly pursuits) they don't make use of the provision made available by God, the daily continual deliverance from Satans' kingdom ,distinguished by serving self and striving for things of the world.
Most churches today are filled with this type of Christian. They are looking for the world's stuff and relegating salvation to a position of just a warehouse item. Something to be used later. -like a retirement plan or an IRA, something I did once but can't use yet.
Common thinking is " salvation is something I did for my future (heaven) not some thing relevant for today.
An example of this attitude is an experience I had as a young man with my former neighbor, an older gentleman who invited me to play golf one Sunday morning. When informed that I go to church on Sunday morning he promptly gave me what he considered to be good fatherly advice. He said   "Don't ever let religion get in the way of your golf game, if you want to be a good golfer your game must take priority."
In the average persons life almost everything takes priority over Christianity or daily salvation.
It wasn't that way in the first century church, that's why they had power, anointing and could use the authority that Jesus gave them and saw miracles take place daily. Christianity was their life everything else took second place.
Living together and having all things in common didn't make the people in the book of Acts powerful (as some have thought and tried to copy and reproduce through communal living) accepting and living and working out their daily salvation made them powerful!
There are many benefits to daily accepting the provisions of salvation. Deliverance from oppression from the kingdom of darkness is but one, but it is a big one.
