ISLAM - Peaceful or Violent

                                                        Part 2

In this section we are pointing out only some of the harsh realities of the Koran and admittedly are not stating any of the less militant parts therefore it may seem a little severe but stark reality can, and often is both harsh and severe. Most of us are not aware of Islam's beginnings or of the nature of the tenants that are taught in all Islamic countries. While we must attempt to learn and understand it we need to constantly remind ourselves that there are many good people in the Islamic religion who do not know or agree with the more severe and cruel parts of Islam but who know nothing else and who are afforded no other choice in countries where Islamic law reigns.

While Christianity originated in the heart of God within the Trinity and was brought forth in the earth in the person of Jesus Christ. Islam originated in Mecca and was established by Mohammad. He felt the need for a religion that was relevant to Arabs. A religion that adhered to ethical standards and produced morals through rules and regulations that prohibit un- condoned activity.

Mohammad was an illiterate ,as were most in his time, who worked as a camel tender on caravans that traveled through out the Middle East. During his travels he became familiar with several religions including Judaism and Christianity. He heard many stories from these religions as well as the Rosicrucians, which he later incorporated into Islam. He apparently was not impressed with any of these religions and probably rightly so. Much of Christianity and Judaism at this time was more political than spiritual. There was much that was undesirable with both groups at this point in time. For the most part Christianity was so far removed from its roots that it lacked the power to accomplish Gods intent on the earth and looked for all the world like just another "religion." So Mohammad at age twenty-five,after marring a forty-year-old wealthy widow, began to create a more acceptable moral and devotion inspiring religion. He borrowed a little here and a little there from other religions with some poetry thrown in, added this to his concept of the way things should be, which culminated with his many and ongoing "revelations" and then delivered Islam to the people.

However much of what is now Islamic religion pre-existed Mohammad in Arabia. There were more than 360 idols and gods being worshiped in Mecca at the time of Mohammad. He and his family worshiped a moon god named Allah. The Encyclopedia of Religion says Allah was an Arabian version of the demonic idol- god condemned in scripture and known as Baal. Many of the rules and rituals of present day Islam were already in place at that time. Praying five times a day towards Mecca (because that was where Allah was), Kissing the black holy stone that forgave sins, and making a pilgrimage to Mecca were all regulations of worshiping Allah the moon god and his three daughters-Al-lat, Ai-uzza- and Manat or Al-manat. Mohammad briefly instituted worship of Allah's three daughters as well as Allah and said they were "intermediaries" to Allah. This revelation he was said to have received during an epileptic type seizure and was later reversed. It seemed to dispute his decision to worship only one god. This was part of the so-called "Satanic verses." It's not a subject Muslins like to talk about or will even admit. Salmone Rushidie, a Muslim himself, authored a book about these verses. Almost immediately Muslim authority declared him to be an infidel and authorized anyone who finds him to kill him. He is still in hiding these many years later. This is evidence of the intolerance so prevalent in Islam through out its history.

Mohammad's religion, while successful in part, was not that well received by all and so began a conversion by conquest that still exist today in the thought, mind and doctrine of Islam. History records the many conquest and wars of Islam more than we can recount here. It began with Mohammad and extends right up to today. The difference in then and now is that most Islamic countries are not sophisticated enough to wage a conventional war of conquest and some apparently indeed aren't so inclined. But this does not keep them from desiring world domination of Islam and does not keep them from advocating and promoting terrorism as a means of keeping alive the fires of wars of conquest. It is safe to say that through out history most converts to Islam were not by conscience but rather by the sword. Today most adherents are born into it but many are persuaded by Muslim evangelist to join. They have been especially successful in the Black community which is hard to understand, especially since the Koran states that only people with white faces will be passed in the judgment and those with black faces will be dammed. Additionally many blacks are told that this was the religion of their ancestors. This in some cases was true but it also was in large part the Arab Muslims that raided the black communities in Africa and sold them into slavery. Most African converts did so in order to avoid the slave traders. It's hard to see how any black person knowing this, could join himself or herself to Islam.

Conquest is still very much on the agenda, recent statistics show that Muslims have been involved in most major anti social conflicts in the last few year more than any other group in the world.  Even though the Koran does say that Jihad can be used for self-defense many use its extreme interpretation to initiate attacks on others. The majority of attacks that have come against non-Muslim groups were initiated by Muslims as well as on other less radical Muslims. The intent then and now is conquering the world for Islam as taught in the Koran. It is understood, even if not agreed with, by any Muslim that this is the goal and duty of all Muslims. That is why most will not openly condemn terrorist activity and many even applaud the efforts of men like Osoma Bin Laden.

In  Braveheart, a film about resistance to England's conquest of Scotland, the king of England said" The trouble with Scotland is, it's full of Scots." Many, far too many Muslims feel the same way about America and Israel. They're full of Christians and Jews.

In Afghanistan a captured AL-Quada member told reporters" The war against America will continue, there are hundreds of thousands who wish to do harm to America. The real problem of America is not Osoma Bin Laden, he's just a symbol. The real enemy of America is the Muslim nations."

Admittedly all Muslims are not radicals and all do not approve of Bin Ladens tactics but all do realize that Bin Laden and the radical's actions are within the law of Islam. All realize that conquest and conversion to Islam is the goal and intent of Islam. The disagreement is not whether the goal is proper or not but is simply on how to accomplish the goal.

Under Islamic law all non-Muslims belong to the house of war, meaning there are three main ways they can be dealt with in order to accompolish the goal of a totally Islamic world. First- convert through evangelism, second  conquer and convert and third, eliminate all non-Muslims. Most realize that men like Ben Laden simply don't have patience enough for the first and want to start the second by trying to implement the third.  Islam's goal is and always has been world domination.  The word Islam means "submission." They have no tolerance for any other religion at all. In the mind of Islam the whole world will eventually summit to Islam and become Muslim.

Christians and Jews, Israel and America  are the enemies of Islam, not by our choice or desire but by their declaration and religious purpose. Yet we cannot afford to hate them or despise them but we must always remember Jesus admonition to love our enemies. We must love and pray for them but we must also be watchful and aware of their intent. Jesus also said that we should be wise as serpents while being harmless as doves.

In Part three we will conclude with, notes and some opinions as well as excerpts from the Koran that explain why they believe they are on a mission for God.
